Srinagar, Nov 14 (KNS): Under the influence of a Western Disturbance, Jammu and Kashmir is expected to experience light to moderate rain and snow showers over the next 48 hours.
According to Kashmir Weather, Snowfall is anticipated in the higher reaches of the region, particularly in areas such as Sadhna Top, Razdan Top, Gurez, Machil, and Phase 1 & 2 in Gulmarg, as well as Zojila Pass, Sinthan Top, Margan Top, and Peer Ki Gali.
While heavy snowfall is not expected in lower altitudes, light snowfall in popular tourist destinations like Sonamarg and Gulmarg remains a possibility. A sharp dip in night temperatures is expected next week, with several parts of Jammu and Kashmir likely to experience the season's first sub-zero temperatures. This drop in temperature will mark the beginning of a colder phase for the region.
However, from November 17 onwards, dry weather is expected to prevail for the next 7 to 10 days, bringing a brief respite from the ongoing precipitation. Local authorities and travelers are advised to stay prepared for changing weather conditions, especially in the higher altitudes. (KNS)
