Srinagar, Jan 25 (KNS): Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, VK Bidhuri, has highlighted the positive transformation in the region, attributing it to improved law and order and greater public participation. He emphasized that the peaceful atmosphere has paved the way for significant development in Kashmir, including enhanced connectivity and economic growth.
Speaking on the occasion of National Voters Day, Bidhuri praised the successful conduct of the recent parliamentary elections, which were held in a free and fair manner without any instances of repolling. He extended his heartfelt congratulations to election officials, political parties, and voters for their active participation. "The Election Commission of India recognized our efforts by awarding us for the smooth execution of the polls," he said, crediting the collective efforts of District Officers (DO), Electoral Registration Officers (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AERO), Booth Level Officers (BLO), and Booth Level Agents (BLA).
Reflecting on Kashmir’s progress, Bidhuri pointed out that connectivity has been a crucial factor in development. On environmental conservation, Bidhuri discussed the geotagging of Chinar trees, calling it a crucial step in preserving Kashmir's heritage. He assured that more trees would be included in the initiative to protect the region's rich ecological and cultural identity.
Looking ahead to upcoming events, the Divisional Commissioner extended his best wishes in advance for Meraj-ul-Nabi and Republic Day. He encouraged people to participate without any apprehensions, emphasizing that there are no restrictions in place. "Come early and take part in the celebrations to ensure proper seating arrangements," he advised.
