Srinagar, Apr 23 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident in which innocent tourists lost their lives, saying those who came to enjoy the beauty of Kashmir returned in coffins.
Unfortunately today their coffins were sent to their homes. It is heartbreaking that their visit ended in such a painful manner,” Omar Abdullah said while speaking to reporters.
Praising the courage of the victims, he shared that one of the local boys stood up to the terrorists and even tried to snatch a rifle from them. “We have come to know that one of the victims showed great bravery by trying to resist the attackers.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe tried to grab the gun and was then shot. This courage will always be remembered,” Abdullah said.
Th Chief Minister visited the families of the deceased and assured them of full support from the government. “We share the pain of the families. I have spoken to them, and we will extend all possible help. I am here to assure them that they are not alone,” he said.
Calling the attack shocking and painful, Omar Abdullah said such incidents highlight the challenges still facing Kashmir. He appealed for unity and strength in the face of violence. (KNS)
