Jammu, Feb 23 (KNS):Kashmiri Pandit leaders have demanded a high-level investigation into the alleged tampering of land records of migrant properties in Kashmir after 1990.
They claim that many land records were deliberately altered using illegal methods such as mutations under Sections 4 and 8 to facilitate land grabbers, with the involvement of politicians, revenue officials, and bureaucrats of that time.
In a joint statement, prominent socio-political activists and leaders of the KP Advisory Committee, including Vinod Pandita, Bharat Kachroo, Sanjay Dhar (President KDP Wing DPAP), Vijay Raina, Kuldeep Kashmiri, and Sunil Bhat (President Migrant Cell PDP), expressed grave concern over what they described as a "well-planned conspiracy" to alter revenue records.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThey alleged that such tampering has caused significant financial losses and mental distress to the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
The leaders have urged Lieutenant Governor J&K to declare all illegal changes in revenue records post-1990 null and void. They also called for the immediate rectification of land records to their original status as per the Immovable Migrant Property Act, 1997.
Additionally, they appealed for a high-level probe to expose the irregularities and bring the culprits to justice. The leaders also urged the government to reactivate the defunct migrant grievance portal to provide relief to the affected community members struggling with land-related issues in Kashmir.(KNS)
