Srinagar January 16 (KNS): The incident occurred during the intervening night of 9 and 10 January and was reported at Police Post Bazaar, Kupwara. On 10 January, police received information about the theft and registered an FIR at the concerned police station.
Following the registration of the case, multiple police teams were formed under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Mubashir Niaz. Investigators collected CCTV footage from several locations and carried out detailed analysis, which provided crucial leads.
Based on these leads, police arrested Akhter Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir, a resident of Drugmulla. During questioning, he disclosed the involvement of two associates.
Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelPolice then arrested Showket Ahmad Mir, son of Ali Mohammad Mir, also a resident of Drugmulla. One more accused has been arrested, whose name has been withheld for investigative reasons.
Police recovered stolen property from the residences of the accused. The recovered items include cash, cash garlands, empty garlands, dry fruits, and readymade clothes such as jeans and jackets. The motorcycle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
Further investigation is in progress to determine the involvement of the accused in other similar cases. Kupwara Police stated that it remains committed to maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety.(KNS)
