SRINAGAR, Jan 16 (KNS) ; Police in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Friday said they had seized 14 grams of a narcotic substance (brown sugar) during a checkpoint operation.
An official informed Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the contraband was recovered from two individuals identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar, Alais Rayees Bandaar, and Abish Imtiyaz Bhat, both residents of the Barbarshah area.
Following the seizure, Police Station Kralkhud registered a First Information Report (No. 02 of 2025) under Sections 8, 21, and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
The official added that a vehicle used at the time of the interception, bearing registration number JK05D-2631, has also been seized as part of the ongoing inquiry.
A further investigation into the case has been initiated, the officer added. (KNS)
