Srinagar, Nov 28 (KNS): Inspector General of Police Kashmir zone VK Birdi on Tuesday said that they have received a letter from Registrar National Institute of Technology Srinagar seeking legal action over the issue that led to protest inside the campus.
IGP Birdi, as per KNS said that the in the evening police got information that there have been some protest in the NIT campus after some students shared a post on social media that has hurt religious sentiments of a particular community.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said that after the intervention of University Registrar students called off the protest, however, police got a letter from the Registrar seeking legal action into the matter.
“We have received the letter and action under relevant sections of law has been taken. Further investigation into the matter is going,” the IGP said. (KNS)
