Kulgam February20 (KNS): Residents of the Kulgam's main town have urged the district administration and the Jal Shakti Department to ensure round-the-clock water supply following the recent announcement by the Public Health Engineering (PHE) division. The announcement stated that water supply in the area will remain off from 7 PM to 7 AM, leading to concerns among local residents who rely heavily on the water supply for daily needs.
In a statement to the media, AEE Javid Ahmad Mir explained that the decision was made due to a low snow spell this winter, which has affected water availability in the Kashmir valley.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe assured the public that this temporary measure was necessary to manage the available resources efficiently.
Mir further stated that efforts are underway to provide 24x7 water supply soon, and a hotline for water-related concerns will be made available for the convenience of residents. Meanwhile, the local community has called for immediate steps to address the issue, emphasizing the critical need for a continuous water supply, especially in light of ongoing cold weather conditions.
As of now, residents are anxiously awaiting further updates and hope for a swift resolution to the water supply disruption.(KNS)
