Srinagar, Feb 25 (KNS): A moderate-intensity Western Disturbance is set to impact Jammu and Kashmir starting this afternoon, bringing a spell of rain and snow across various parts of the region, according to Kashmir Weather.
Precipitation is expected to commence in the higher reaches by late afternoon today and gradually extend to most areas by tomorrow morning. Intermittent rain and snow showers will continue until the evening of February 27, followed by a more intense spell likely to persist through the morning or afternoon of February 28.
Higher reaches are expected to receive moderate snowfall, with some areas witnessing heavy accumulation. Meanwhile, the plains will predominantly experience rainfall due to relatively higher temperatures. However, there remains a 25% chance of rain transitioning to snow in a few plain areas on the night of February 27.
An improvement in weather conditions is anticipated from the afternoon of February 28. Authorities and residents are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions. (KNS)
