Molana Akhzar Hussain Commends Police Efforts in Anti-Drug Campaign

Srinagar July 31 (KNS): Islamic scholar and head of the Ulama-e-Ahnaf, Molana Akhzar Hussain, has expressed grave concern over the growing drug menace in Jammu and Kashmir, describing it not just as a social crisis but a catastrophe collective concern.

Talking to media he said that the consistent efforts of the police force in tackling the issue through raids, seizures, and preventive measures. He praised the police’s role as commendable and encouraging but emphasized the need for political leadership to take a more active stance in this critical battle.

Molana revealed alarming figures, stating that nearly 3 million young men and women in Jammu and Kashmir are currently under the grip of drug addiction, posing a tragic scenario for society. “The younger generation is on the brink of destruction, he said.

He also said that If timely action is not taken, the political landscape of the future will be deserted, as there will be no one left to lead or to be led,” he warned.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Calling for political unity beyond party interests and personal agendas, Molana urged all political leaders in Jammu and Kashmir to come together and make a serious demand from the Centre for a comprehensive financial package and concrete employment plans. “Such a move would be an enduring act of charity and will be remembered in golden words in the history of public welfare,” he stated.

Molana passionately added, “If I have to knock on every politician’s door myself for this cause, I won’t hesitate.” He also revealed that he has been raising his voice against drugs for the past two decades, enduring personal hardships and suffering in the process, but remains unwavering in his mission.

He appealed to all religious leaders, parents, teachers, civil society members, and all conscientious citizens to join a collective jihad against drugs, ensuring a safe, dignified, and brighter future for the coming generations.(KNS)
