NC Misleading People of Budgam on Road Widening Since 2002: Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi

Srinagar January 27 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir People's Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Budgam constituency in-charge, Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, has strongly criticized the National Conference (NC) for consistently misleading the people of Budgam.

In a press statement issued in response to the recent visit of the Deputy Chief Minister, Aga Muntazir accused the NC of neglecting the needs of the constituency despite securing electoral victories from Budgam in both the Assembly and Parliament since 1999. He highlighted that Budgam, which has historically supported leaders like Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah, has been left to struggle for basic necessities and remains deprived of critical infrastructure.

Aga Muntazir particularly lamented the state of healthcare in the district, stating, “Budgam is still waiting for advanced healthcare facilities. The District Hospital is yet to be equipped with essential equipment such as ultrasound machines.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel”

Criticizing the Deputy Chief Minister’s announcement on road widening in the district, Aga Muntazir said, “We have been hearing about this project since 2002. Numerous Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) and surveys have been conducted, but no tangible progress has been made.”

He urged the government to prioritize a comprehensive rehabilitation and compensation plan for those affected by the road widening project instead of engaging in superficial promises to mislead the public. “The people of Budgam deserve action, not optics,” he added.

The PDP leader called for immediate measures to address the genuine concerns of the residents and warned against further neglect of the region’s pressing issues.(KNS)
