Srinagar, July 27(KNS): The Army on Sunday said in a daring infiltration attempt during bad weather and poor visibility along the Line of Control in the Machhal Sector, a group of two to three armed personnel crossed into Indian territory and fired on a forward Army post.
As per statement, The alert troops responded vigorously, leading to an intense exchange of fire. One Pakistani intruder was killed, and weapons, ammunition, and war-like stores were recovered. The identification and affiliation of the deceased are being ascertained.
During the fierce exchange, two Indian soldiers sustained grave injuries. The other soldier is responding well to treatment and is currently stable.
This infiltration attempt is not an isolated incident. Similar efforts by infiltrators, actively supported by the Pakistani Army, have previously exploited thick foliage and poor visibility conditions. However, these attempts have consistently been thwarted and disrupted by the vigilant Indian troops.
The Indian Army remains resolute in its commitment to maintaining the sanctity of the Line of Control and defeating the nefarious designs of the Pakistani Army, said statement. (KNS)
