Sopore, Sep 22 (KNS): Sopore Police on Tuesday organised a cycle race at Railway Crossing, Amargarh, as part of its ongoing sports and youth engagement activities under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026-27.

Around 400 students from different government schools and private educational institutions across Police District Sopore participated in the event, providing the young cyclists an opportunity to showcase their sporting talent, endurance and competitive spirit in a healthy and positive environment.

The cycle race was part of a series of sporting events being organised by Sopore Police under CAP 2026-27. The programme has so far included handball, volleyball, cricket, kho-kho, athletics and other sports activities at different locations across Police District Sopore.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The initiatives are aimed at strengthening engagement with youth, encouraging local sporting talent and providing young people with meaningful platforms to showcase their abilities, police said.

The activities also seek to channelise the energy of young people towards positive and constructive pursuits and strengthen police-public relations at the grassroots level, it said.

Sopore Police said it would continue to organise sports and youth-oriented activities across the police district under CAP 2026-27, with a focus on encouraging greater participation in sports and creating meaningful opportunities for young people.(KNS)
