"Reservation process followed, report now with Lok Bhawan”
Srinagar, Dec 29 (KNS): National Conference chief spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Monday said that protesters who were stopped were holding a peaceful protest and should not have been stopped.
Speaking to reporters, Tanvir said that the government had allowed them earlier, so there was no reason to stop them this time.
“A peaceful protest in a democracy is a democratic right of ours and every person should be given that right. What happened yesterday was not right,” he said.
On the reservation policy, Sadiq said the government followed the steps that were part of the promise made in the party manifesto.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
He said a committee worked for six months, prepared a report, the Cabinet took legal opinion, and then the report was sent to the Lok Bhawan for approval.
“If there was any change, we would have told the students. There is no change. We are following the promise we made to the students,” he added.
On recruitments, he said posts will continue to be advertised, but the government wants the reservation decision approved first.(KNS)
