Srinagar May 24 (KNS): Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have risen against terrorism, showing that the days of fear and violence are ending.
He was speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of a new guest house at Dargah Hazratbal, organized by the J&K Waqf Board, chaired by Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi.
The event was attended by DGP Nalin Prabhat, along with Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Vijay Kumar Bidhuri and other dignitaries.
Speaking at the event, LG Sinha praised the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, saying“Nine terrorist sites were eliminated in just 22 minutes — with zero civilian harm. This is not just a military victory, but a moral one. It reflects the strength of our people and security forces.”
“The public anger is visible. The people of Jammu and Kashmir want justice. They want those who stabbed their peace to face consequences,” he added.
In a deeply spiritual note, LG Sinha invoked the message of Islam and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)“The Prophet's mercy is flowing through this land. His message of peace, compassion, and justice continues to inspire us today.”
The guest house, being developed by the Waqf Board, is expected to improve amenities for pilgrims and visitors to Hazratbal and is seen as part of a larger push to promote spiritual tourism and infrastructure. (KNS)
