Prompt Action by Police Saves Woman from Drowning in Jhelum Near Khankah-e-Moula In A Daring Rescue Effort


Srinagar June 6, (KNS) : In a courageous and selfless act, a Special Police Officer on duty, as the driver of SDPO MR Ganj, namely Irfan Hajam, saved the life of a woman who attempted to jump into the river Jhelum near Khankah-e-Moula recently.

According to eye witnesses, the woman was seen jumping into the river in an apparent suicide attempt.
Immediate efforts were made by nearby volunteers to rescue her, but they were unable to reach her in time.

Upon the directions of SDPO MR Ganj, SPO Irfan Hajam displayed exceptional bravery by responding to the unfolding situation in the nick of time.

She was immediately provided with first aid and later shifted to a nearby hospital for further medical care.
