Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): The Rajya Sabha on Monday passed The Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill 2023 that seeks to reserve 33 percent of seats in Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for woman.
As per details available with KNS, Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankar earlier allowed Ministry of State home affairs Nityanand Rai to move the Bill as passed by the Lok Sabha last week.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The Government of Union Territories (Amendment) Bill, 2023 seeks to reserve 33% of seats in the Jammu and Kashmir, and Puducherry Assemblies for women.
Rajya Sabha also passed The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2023, which seeks to amend the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. (KNS)
