Srinagar June 1 (KNS): Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) is set to witness a record turnout in its entrance examinations this year, with 18,000 students registered to appear as remarkable rise from just 2,000 thirteen years ago.

According to data available with Kashmir News Service (KNS), that Of the total candidates, 15,000 are scheduled to take the exam in Srinagar, while 3,000 will appear from Jammu.

The university has established 28 examination centres across the region to accommodate the growing number of aspirants, 24 centres in the Kashmir Valley and 4 in the Jammu division.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

In terms of gender representation, the candidates include 49% girls and 51% boys, reflecting a healthy participation from both demographics.

Officials say the steadily rising trend over the past decade underscores increasing interest among students in agricultural and allied sciences, as well as the growing reputation of SKUAST as a premier institution in the region.

The entrance examination is a gateway for undergraduate and postgraduate courses in agriculture, horticulture, veterinary sciences, and related fields, he added.(KNS)
