Srinagar January 1 (KNS): Senior political leader Rouf Bhat condemned the recent incidents of violence targeting people from Kashmir in Uttarakhand and other parts of the country.
According a statement issued here, he said that these disturbing acts are not just attacks on individuals from Kashmir but direct assault on our shared humanity and the constitutional values of this nation. Targeting innocent people on the basis of identity reflects a dangerous mindset driven by hatred and division,” Rouf Bhat said.
Drawing parallels from history, he noted that Europe, particularly in the period leading up to the Second World War, suffered immense destruction due to racism, intolerance and deep social divisions. “It took devastating wars and enormous human suffering for European nations to understand that unity, equality and mutual respect are essential for lasting peace.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe European Union today stands as a reminder of that hard-earned lesson,” he said.
Rouf Bhat said that our strength lies in our diversity. Caste, religion or regional identity should never become tools for discrimination or violence. If such tendencies are allowed to grow unchecked, they can push society towards chaos,” he warned.(KNS)
Calling upon authorities to act firmly, he urged the government to ensure strict action against those responsible and to guarantee the safety and dignity of Kashmiris and all minorities across the country. “This is not just a law-and-order issue; it is a test of our collective conscience and our commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution,” he added.(KNS)
