Bandipora, July 28 (KNS): Journalist Association (JAB) comprising of 18 members on Thursday elected its new body including president and other officer bearers.
In the election process, under the supervision of District Information Office Bandipora all 18 members exercised their right to franchise and elected KNS Correspondent Shahzad Hussain Bhat as its president, 4Tv Correspondent Abdul Qayoom as vice president, while Ronak Times Correspondent Bilal Rehmani and Earth News Correspondent Towseef Ahmad were elected as General Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
Shahzad Hussain Bhat won the President post with 11 votes, defeating Sajad Ahmad Sofi, who received 6 votes.
For the Vice President post, Abdul Qayoom secured 09 votes, while his opponent Asrar ul Haq secured 8 votes.
The General Secretary was elected unopposed. The Treasurer and Spokesperson were chosen by the President, Vice President, and General Secretary, as per the association's bylaws.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Expressing his gratitude for the trust placed in him, president Shahzad Hussain Bhat said that he is honored to be elected as the head of the association and he will remain committed to work tirelessly to uphold the principles and ethics journalism.
Notably, the association remains committed to promote ethical journalism practices and ensure the highest standards of professionalism.
