SKIMS Medical College Bemina organizes Continued Nursing Education Program

 Srinagar, 01 Dec(KNS): Continuing with its academic endeavours, Department of Nursing Administration with support of Dept of Psychiatry (Advanced Centre for Mental Health & Addiction Medicine) SKIMS Medical College Bemina, Srinagar organized a Continued Nursing Education Program.

The program started with presentation by Amanat and Ms Khushnuma, young dynamic MSc Psychiatric Nursing students of Mader-e-Meherban Institute of Nursing Sciences & Research SKIMS, on the role of nurses in the management of Psychiatric Emergencies and Psychiatric rehabilitation.

This was followed by Guest lecture by Dr. Sailaxmi Gandhi, Professor and Former Head of Nursing, National Institute and Mental Health Bangalore (NIMHANS) who shared a 25-year-long-long experience with audience. Dr Abdul Majid, Prof & HOD Psychiatry SKIMS Medical College highlighted the importance of nursing care in the management of Mental illnesses and stressed on team effort as the core of improving patient care.

Dr Nizam Ud Din, Assistant Professor Psychiatry, Chasfeeda, Assistant Nursing Superintendent, Mrs Rifat Hafeez, Nursing Supervisor Psychiatry Dept in addition senior nursing staff and MSc Nursing students participated in the event. Sabah Manzoor, Staff Nurse coordinated the program and delivered the vote of thanks.(KNS).
