Sopore Police Knockout Cricket & Football Tournament Concludes with Enthusiastic Participation

Sopore, May 24 (KNS) : As part of the Civic Action Programme and the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Sopore Police successfully concluded the Knockout Cricket and Football Tournament today, aimed at channeling youth energy into positive avenues and reinforcing the fight against drug abuse.

The grand finale witnessed vibrant participation and was graced by SSP Sopore Shri Iftikhar Talib-JKPS as Chief Guest. Among the dignitaries present were ADC Sopore Shri Shabir Ahmad Raina-JKAS, ASP Sopore Shri Mir Murtaza-JKPS, SDPO Sopore Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS, DYSP DAR Shri Mohammad Abdullah, and several prominent members of civil society from various walks of life.

In the cricket final, Friends Eleven Sopore secured a convincing win over Shining Star Amberpora, chasing a target of 106 runs in just 9 overs for the loss of one wicket. Moosa Majeed was named Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The football final between FC Blues and FC Ambarpora concluded in a tense penalty shootout, with FC Ambarpora emerging victorious. Kamran Hameed earned accolades as both Player of the Match and Player of the Tournament.

Addressing the gathering, SSP Sopore Shri Iftikhar Talib remarked: “This tournament is more than just a sporting event—it is a message. A message that Sopore Police stands firmly with our youth in their aspirations and against the scourge of drugs. Together, through sports and awareness, we aim to build a stronger, safer, and drug-free Sopore.”
