Srinagar, Dec 21 (KNS): PDP leader Iltija Mufti on Saturday criticized the current government for failing to provide basic facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and alleged that instead of improving conditions, the administration is depriving citizens of existing amenities.

Speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) in south Kashmir, Mufti highlighted the hardships faced by people due to the non-availability of essentials like electricity. "The people of the Kashmir Valley are suffering due to the lack of basic facilities, including electricity and other essentials," she said.

Mufti further criticized the government for its inability to fulfill promises, despite enjoying a majority mandate. “Even after securing a thumping majority, they are making excuses for not addressing the issues of the people. If the sitting MLAs cannot work for the public, they should resign from their positions,” she asserted.

Commenting on the National Conference, Mufti alleged hypocrisy in their approach.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Before elections, the National Conference promised to rationalize the reservation system. Now, their MLAs are saying they won’t do it, revealing their true intentions,” she remarked.

She also condemned the recent ration card cuts, which she claimed have affected 1.5 lakh people across the region. “If the government cannot provide basic necessities like ration and electricity, the least they can do is not snatch them from the people,” she said.

Mufti criticized National Conference leaders for their actions, accusing them of double standards. “In Delhi, they gift shawls to leaders, but upon returning to Kashmir, they implement GST on those shawls. Is this justice?” she questioned.

She concluded by recalling her mother’s unwavering commitment to truth and said the vision of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is now being understood by the people. (KNS)
