 Srinagar, Nov 10(KNS): A same terrorists gorup involved in the recent killing of two village guards in Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar district have been cornered, and an encounter is underway, police said.

An army officer and another soldier have been injured in the exchange of fire.

The terrorists had kidnapped the two village defense guards from Adhwari and then shot them dead. Kishtwar police confirmed that it is the same group now trapped by security forces.

"Encounter begins at Keshwan, Kishtwar, between terrorists and security forces. Three to four terrorists believed to be trapped. This is the same group that killed the two villagers," they stated.

This is the third encounter within the past 24 hours. Earlier, an exchange of fire began between terrorists and security forces during an anti-terror operation in the Zabarwan forest in Srinagar.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel


"A joint police and security forces operation was launched in the Zabarwan forest area of Srinagar based on intelligence about the presence of terrorists. An exchange of fire ensued," said Kashmir Zone Police.

This followed an encounter in Baramulla district yesterday, during which security forces killed a terrorist. The forces and state police had launched a joint operation in Rajpura after observing suspicious activity.

The encounter began when terrorists opened fire on the forces, said the Indian Army's Chinar Corps. "One terrorist has been neutralized by the security forces in the ongoing operation in the general area of Rajpura, Sopore, Baramulla," they stated.(KNS).
