Terrorists Killed in South Kashmir Belong to HM: DIG Javid Iqbal

 Srinagar, Dec 19 (KNS) Security forces neutralized five militants in the Kader area of Kulgam district on Thursday, while two soldiers sustained injuries during the encounter.  

 
According to officials, the slain militants are suspected to be affiliated with the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM). The identification process and further details about their involvement in militancy-related activities will be shared after the operation concludes.  
 
Speaking to the media, DIG South Kashmir Javid Iqbal stated, “During the exchange of fire, five militants were killed, and two soldiers were injured. The injured personnel were promptly evacuated to a medical facility, where they are reported to be in stable condition.”  
 
The Army’s Chinar Corps confirmed the development on the social media platform X, stating, “Five terrorists have been neutralized by security forces in the ongoing operation.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelTwo soldiers injured during the firefight have been evacuated for medical care. The operation is progressing.”  
 
The encounter began in the early hours of Thursday following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the Kader area. Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation, leading to a fierce exchange of gunfire.
 
 Efforts are underway to retrieve the bodies of the militants, with a thorough search of the area to rule out the presence of additional threats. (KNS)
