Srinagar, August 14 (KNS): A high level administrative inspection of the Agriculture Department in Kashmir was conducted today by a team of senior officers led by Dr. Abdul Kabir Dar, Secretary Technical Administrative Reforms, Inspections, and Trainings Department. The inspection focused on assessing adherence to the administrative reform guidelines set by the Government and evaluating progress in transforming Kashmir's agricultural landscape, with a strong emphasis on transparency and accountability through newly devised office protocols.
The Director of Agriculture Kashmir gave a detailed presentation of the reforms and innovations being carried by The Department of Agriculture , all the officers of the Department participated by virtual and hybrid mood and were senistised about the importance of following the guidelines, rules and regulations devised by the Government for conducting of official work in the Department of hessel free public services delivery.
These procedures are designed to maximize benefits to stakeholders and ensure that initiatives are executed transparently, efficiently, and effectively," said Dr. Kabir Dar.
During the inspection, Director Agriculture Kashmir, during the field visit Director Agriculture Iqbal Choudhary, briefed the team on the activities and achievements of the agriculture sector, and adherence to the ARI & Trainings devised guidelines, proforma on reforms. The Secretary emphasised the importance of such administrative inspections for the department's development and also interacted with various heads of laboratories, technical sections, and inspected records.Implementation of key central schemes and initiatives aimed at modernizing the agriculture sector achievable deliverables were also discussed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The focus remained on enhancing productivity, promoting innovative farm technologies, and establishing state-of-the-art infrastructure, all within a transparent and accountable framework.
The inspection covered various critical areas, including the use of high-yield varieties (HYV), soil health management, organic farming practices, and the development of irrigation infrastructure. The team also evaluated adherence to the new protocols in the implementation of social schemes such as PM-KISAN, PM-Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana, and the Crop Insurance Scheme, ensuring that the processes are farmer-centric and transparent.
Secretary Dr Kabir Dar emphasized the importance of these new protocols, stating, "Our mission is not only to assist the administration in transforming not only the agricultural landscape but to do so with the utmost transparency and accountability across all Government departments in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.
These new protocols are a testament to the commitment of the ARI & Trainings Department to guiding Reforms, ensuring that every initiative is executed with integrity by following Government rules and regulations, and bringing reforms to the system."
Today's inspection, guided by these newly established procedures, is expected to set a benchmark for future operations, help Department and Controlling officers of respective departments , further enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness, thereby transforming Kashmir’s agriculture from subsistence to sustainability with integrity and accountability, said Dr. Kabir.
