Anatnag April 16 (KNS): Police on Sunday said that it has recovered 6 logs of illicit timber and arrested two persons in this connection in Uterrasso Achabal Anantnag.
"SHO PS Uterrasso led party laid a naka in the intervening night around 3 am and arrested two persons, seized three horses and 6 logs near Goswanwedar shangus", Police said.
Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that Police party led by Majid Nadim along with SDPO Achabal Dr. Raqeeb Mallik arrested two persons namely, Shabir Ahmad Gojjar S/O Sayid Aalam Gojjar, Javid Ahmad Khan S/O Gh. Police said that Case under sections of Indian Forest Act registered in Police Station Utresso under no 21/2023 U/S 379 Ipc 26 FA Act and investigation set in motion.
A senior police official said we are also here to protect national wealth forest. " We have started investigations and call details of persons arrested will be checked for more arrests," he said.
Meanwhile DFO Anantnag Forest Division Mohammad Ramzan Mir said he is collecting the details and culprits will be punished. He directed employees to work hard in protecting forests.(KNS)
