Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS) : Awami Itihaad Party (AIP) Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi on Friday strongly condemned what he called grave injustice to Open Merit (OM) aspirants in Jammu and Kashmir saying the government’s silence and delay are destroying the careers of thousands of deserving youth.
In a statement issued ,Inam Un Nabi said allocating only 40 per cent posts to Open Merit candidates in major recruitments including 1,815 police constable posts and 480 Medical Officer posts has exposed the deep imbalance in the reservation policy. “After vertical and horizontal reservations, Open Merit candidates are left with crumbs. This is not social justice; it is systematic exclusion,” he said.
Inam reminded that the Chief Minister had publicly assured Open Merit students in December last year that the issue would be resolved but even after more than a year, nothing has changed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“Promises were made, committees were formed, but students are still waiting. Who will answer for the years of hard work and preparation now being wasted?” he asked.
Calling the delay deliberate and damaging, Inam Un Nabi said the government must immediately rationalise the reservation policy instead of buying time. “Every passing recruitment without correction is another blow to Open Merit aspirants. The government cannot keep playing with careers while remaining a mute spectator,” he warned.
He said AIP stands firmly with Open Merit students and will continue to raise the issue until a fair, transparent and balanced reservation framework is enforced to protect the future of Jammu and Kashmir’s youth.(KNS)
