Srinagar April 07 (KNS): District Police Baramulla today inaugurated a T20 Cricket Tournament at the Sanctorium Ground, Tangmarg, as part of its Civic Action Plan aimed at promoting sportsmanship, engaging youth, and fostering stronger community-police relations.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by Shri Feroz Yehya (JKPS), SP Ops Baramulla, in the presence of Shri Faizan Ali (JKPS), SDPO Tangmarg, along with SHO Tangmarg, SHO Kunzer, and DO Babareshi.
A total of 10 teams representing the 5 Police Sub-Divisions of Baramulla district are participating in the tournament, which is being conducted on a knock-out basis. Addressing the gathering, officers from Baramulla Police emphasized the significance of such initiatives in channelizing the energy of youth into positive pursuits, strengthening public trust, and nurturing a vibrant sporting culture across the region.
The inaugural match saw Narwaw 11 defeat Kreeri A by 7 wickets. Zahoor Xolo of Narwaw 11 stole the spotlight with a stellar unbeaten knock of 108 runs off 54 balls, earning him the title of Man of the Match.
