New Delhi, Dec 7 (KNS): The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken a pivotal step to bolster aviation security across the nation by launching an Internal Quality Control Unit (IQCU) for its Aviation Security Group (ASG). Deployed at 68 airports, this unit is designed to establish world-class security procedures and leverage advanced technology to enhance airport safety.

The initiative aligns with the National Civil Aviation Security Quality Control Programme-2024 (NCASQCP) issued by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and the Aircraft (Security) Rules-2023. The IQCU will function as an integral part of the Aviation Security Control Center (ASCC), inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 22, 2023.

Equipped with components like an Incident Management Centre, Aviation Research and Data Centre, and a Centralized Communication Control Centre, the ASCC will collaborate with the IQCU to address modern security challenges and elevate the security framework at Indian airports, including those under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (UDAAN).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

A senior CISF officer will lead the IQCU, supported by certified Aviation Security (AVSEC) instructors, national auditors, and experienced personnel. Key objectives of the unit include. Standardization of Procedures: Establishing uniform security protocols across airports through consistent training and evaluations. Technological Advancement: Advocating for cutting-edge technology based on field trials and international standards.

Internal Audits: Conducting audits as per ICAO/BCAS guidelines to assess and enhance security operations.

Quality Control Monitoring: Reviewing and updating security measures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency. Feedback Analysis: Gathering input to identify gaps and improve performance under global aviation standards. CISF’s move aims to mitigate risks, ensure operational resilience, and maintain robust aviation security across the country, making Indian airports safer for all travelers.(KNS).
