Cleanliness Measures in Place for Amarnath Yatra: Mandeep Kaur

Srinagar, Aug 04(KNS): Commissioner Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department J&K, Mandeep Kaur announced comprehensive measures to ensure a clean and hygienic environment for pilgrims participating in the Amarnath Yatra.

Speaking to KNS, she said that the department is committed to maintaining waste-free yatra camps and routes, addressing concerns over unclean toilets with dedicated teams ensuring sanitation and comfort, as per directives from the LG-led administration.

Kaur emphasized that while the department’s initiatives are making a significant impact, active public involvement is essential for sustaining clean surroundings.

"Sanitation workers across both Jammu and Kashmir are working diligently, though a pending waste management project in Srinagar remains a challenge. Public cooperation is critical to achieving continued success in urban cleanliness efforts," she added.(KNS).
