Srinagar, April 28 (KNS): In a speech during the session, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah praised Sajjad Lone for powerfully expressing the pain and emotions surrounding the recent Pahalgam tragedy.
Speaking in an emotional tone, Omar said he struggled to find words as strong as Sajjad’s to describe the grief. He fully supported Sajjad’s demand to include the names of those who lost their lives in Pahalgam in the House resolution. Towards the end of his address, Omar agreed with Sajjad’s important point that while security forces can control violence, it is ultimately the people of Jammu and Kashmir who must defeat it permanently. The Speaker also thanked Sajjad for raising the matter of honoring the victims.
At the conclusion of the session, Omar Abdullah personally walked up to Sajjad Lone and thanked him for delivering what he called a "powerful and moving" speech.(KNS)
