Srinagar, April 28 (KNS): After the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, the Jammu and Kashmir government quickly set up a toll-free helpline on April 24 to support students from the Union Territory studying in different parts of the country.

An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the helpline has played an important role by staying active and responsive, providing emotional support, guidance, and other assistance to students in need.

The helpline was launched after reports surfaced that some Kashmiri students were facing harassment and intimidation outside J&K following the tragic attack.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

"The helpline has handled dozens of calls from students across India, helping them with emotional counseling and logistical support," the official said.

He further added that the officer managing the helpline has been handling calls efficiently, even during late-night emergencies. "The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority. The helpline is available 24/7, and any student needing help can reach out at any time," he said.

Many students have expressed their gratitude, praising the government for setting up the helpline and providing timely support during this difficult period.(KNS)
