Budgam, Nov 25 (KNS): The Congress Party held an important district-level meeting in Budgam under the Sangathan Srijan Abhiyan, a nationwide campaign launched by the All India Congress Committee (AICC) to strengthen the party’s organisational structure.
The meeting was attended by AICC Observer Shamina Shafiq, former Member of the National Commission for Women, along with State Observers Irfan Hafiz Lone (MLA), Farooq Ahmad Mir, and Shameema Raina, President of the J&K Pradesh Mahila Congress.
Party workers were briefed on the restructuring process, which focuses on transparent leadership selection, accountability, and strong grassroots participation. The observers said consultations are underway with local workers and civil society to identify capable leaders for the district. This will be followed by restructuring of executive committees and formation of District Political Affairs Committees to ensure a dynamic and responsive organisation.
The meeting also reaffirmed Congress’s commitment to inclusion, decentralisation, and greater leadership opportunities for women, youth, minorities, and marginalised communities. A detailed report will be submitted to the AICC within the prescribed timeline.
