DC Baramulla reviews Snowfall Response, Power Restoration and Health Services

 BARAMULLA, JANUARY 23: In view of the heavy snowfall across the district, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, today undertook extensive field visits to review emergency response measures, snow clearance operations, power restoration efforts, and healthcare preparedness.

 
The Deputy Commissioner conducted an on-spot inspection of Tower No. 142 of the Delina–Sheeri Lower Jhelum 132 KV transmission line, which suffered severe damage due to snowfall. He directed the concerned executing agencies to restore the damaged infrastructure and make the line operational at the earliest to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
 
Later, the DC visited Government Medical College (GMC), Baramulla, to assess the availability of healthcare facilities during the prevailing weather conditions. He reviewed the stock of emergency medicines, heating arrangements, and patient care services. The DC also interacted with patients and attendants to take firsthand feedback on service delivery and directed hospital authorities to ensure uninterrupted medical services.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed snow clearance operations across various parts of the district, including highways, major roads, and inner link roads. He instructed all concerned departments to work on a war footing to ensure early restoration of connectivity and safe movement of traffic.
 
Meanwhile, snow clearance operations are progressing at a fast pace across Baramulla. National highways and all major roads have been cleared for traffic, while efforts are underway to restore full connectivity on inner roads at the earliest.
 
The DC emphasized close inter-departmental coordination and directed officers to remain alert, responsive, and proactive to address public inconvenience during the ongoing snowfall.
