DC Kulgam reviews Republic Day 2026 arrangements

 KULGAM, JANUARY, 21: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan today reviewed preparations for the smooth conduct of Republic Day–2026 celebrations during a meeting of officers held here at new conferencehall Mini Secretariat, Kulgam.

 
Threadbare discussions were held on various arrangements to be made at the venue, including security, seating arrangements, parking, transportation, illumination of buildings, refreshments and accommodation for participants.
 
During the meeting, the DC directed all concerned departments to put in place elaborate and well-coordinated arrangements to ensure the successful conduct of the national function.
 
During the meeting it was shared that the main function will be held at DPL Kulgam, where the National Flag will be unfurled by the Chief Guest, followed by a parade comprising contingents of J&K Police, CRPF, NCC, Police Band, Women Contingent, NCC and other participating units.
 
The DC issued strict instructions to all departments to complete arrangements well in advance to ensure the smooth and dignified conduct of the celebrations.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
 Keeping in view the prevailing cold weather conditions, departments were asked to ensure adequate heating arrangements for rehearsals as well as on the final day of the event.
 
Emphasising coordination, the DC directed all concerned officers and agencies to maintain close inter-departmental coordination.
 
KPDCL was instructed to ensure uninterrupted power supply and to keep standby DG sets in readiness at the venue. 
 
 Municipality and Power Department were also directed to ensure proper illumination of important buildings across the town.
 
The DC further instructed the concerned departments to arrange colourful cultural programmes to mark the occasion.
 
Executive Engineer, MED was directed to keep men and machinery in a state of readiness to ensure timely snow clearance in case of any snowfall.
 
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner Revenue and officers from Police and other concerned departments.
