KUPWARA, JANUARY 20: In continuation to the commemoration of 150 years of National Pride ‘Vande Mataram’, the District Administration Kupwara today organized a vibrant and patriotic rally to celebrate the spirit of nationalism and honour India’s freedom struggle.
The rally commenced from Fountain Chowk, Kupwara, and culminated at the General Bus Stand, Kupwara. It witnessed enthusiastic participation from officers and officials of the district administration, police personnel, students, youth, traders and members of civil society, reflecting a strong collective commitment towards national unity and pride.
Adding to the patriotic fervour, the Police Band led the rally and performed soul-stirring patriotic tunes, evoking a sense of pride and reverence among the participants and onlookers alike. The melodious renditions created an atmosphere charged with national spirit and remembrance of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters.

As part of the programme, the DIPR Kupwara organized cultural performances highlighting key episodes of India’s freedom movement. These performances artistically depicted the struggle, sacrifices, and resilience of the nation’s heroes, while also emphasizing the enduring relevance of Vande Mataram as a symbol of unity, devotion, and national identity.
The initiative aimed to foster awareness, especially among the younger generation, about the historical significance of Vande Mataram and to strengthen feelings of patriotism, social harmony, and respect for the nation’s rich legacy.
Similarly, a Police band rally was organized at Handwara Chowk to commemorate the 150 years of Vande Mataram.
