SRINAGAR, JANUARY 28 (KNS): A Divisional level training cum orientation programme was held today at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi, here.
The training programme was inaugurated by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal.
Addressing the participants, the Director Agriculture underlined the importance of fodder crops for managing the livestock feed demands. He said that the department is already working on a strategy for bridging the gaps in demand and supply of feeds and fodder crops.
Director Agriculture said that the department is raising quality fodder crops in departmental farms and the seed is then provided to the farmers so that these fodder crops could be introduced and replicated in the farmers field.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Iqbal said that under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors special attention has been paid to rejuvenation and promotion of pastoral systems and grasslands. He said that our Agro-climatic conditions are conducive for the cultivation of high quality fodder crops therefore all the efforts must be put in place to explore and get benefited out of these agro-climatic conditions.
He asked the officers of the allied departments to work in coordination for the successful implementation of projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors.
Joint Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Mohammad Hussian, Deputy Director Animal Husbandry Dr. Ghulam Hussian Mir, officers of agriculture department, animal husbandry department, KVKs among others participated in the training programme.(KNS)
