SRINAGAR, Jan 22 (KNS) ; The blessed life of Imam Hussain (AS) stands as an eternal beacon against all forms of tyranny, stated Hujjat-ul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mousawi Al-Safavi during a major religious gathering here on Sunday.
The event, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shia, marked the auspicious birth anniversaries of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS)—grandson of the Holy Prophet (PBUH)—along with Hazrat Imam Ali Ibn Hussain (AS), Hazrat Abul Fadl Abbas (AS), and Hazrat Sayyida Zainab Al-Kubra (AS).
Held at the historic Imambara Hassanabad in Srinagar, the spiritually dignified Milad celebration drew a large assembly of devotees. Participants included students and teachers from various branches of Jamia Bab-ul-Ilm, officials and members of the Anjuman, and local residents.
The programme commenced with a recitation from the Holy Quran by Qari Muhammad Saleem. This was followed by a series of devotional presentations by children, featuring Manaqibat Khwani, speeches, and dialogues, which were warmly received by the audience.
Prominent scholars attending the event included Hujjat-ul-Islam Syed Muhammad Hussain Green, Syed Muhammad Hussain Safavi, Syed Arshad Mousavi, Ghulam Muhammad Gulzar, Imtiaz Hussain, Maulvi Gohar Hussain Dar, and Maulvi Tanveer Hussain.
In his address, Anjuman President Agha Syed Hassan Al-Mousawi Al-Safavi elaborated on the significance of the month of Shaban Al-Mu'azzam, describing it as “the spirit-enhancing spring of Gulistan-e-Zahra (AS).

“These holy figures demonstrated the most resolute and patient resistance in history against oppression and falsehood, raising the banner of truth until the Day of Judgment,” he stated.
Agha Syed Hassan emphasized that Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) remains “the ship of salvation and the lamp of guidance,” whose legacy as a symbol of resistance, freedom, and righteousness against tyranny is immortal. He clarified that true devotion to Imam Hussain (AS) is manifested not merely in words but through the practical observance of religious principles and by emulating his life.
The address also highlighted the contemporary relevance of Hussaini thought, asserting that in the current global context, it provides the oppressed with courage and a framework for resistance against oppressive forces.
The ceremony concluded with special prayers for the well-being and longevity of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. Prayers were also offered for the perseverance and resilience of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of what was described as malicious propaganda and conspiracies by the United States and Israel.
