Grand Mufti J&K Sets Sadaqat-ul-Fitr at ₹75

Srinagar, Mar 10 (KNS): The Grand Mufti of Jammu and Kashmir, Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam, has announced that the obligatory Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (Zakat al-Fitr) for this year is fixed at ?75 per person. He emphasized that this charitable contribution is mandatory for all Muslims, including men, women, and even infants, and must be paid before the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.


Mufti Nasir-ul-Islam clarified that the amount of Sadaqat-ul-Fitr, which is equivalent to 1.75 kg of wheat per person, has been valued at ?75 following consultations with Islamic scholars.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe urged Muslims to pay on behalf of themselves and their minor children, while adult, financially independent children are required to pay for themselves.

The Grand Mufti further stressed that the donation is intended to assist those in need, such as orphans, the poor, and travelers, and should not be used for mosque maintenance, religious institutions, or political purposes. He called on the people of J&K to fulfill this religious duty promptly to ensure that the contributions reach the deserving beneficiaries. (KNS)
