Srinagar, Feb 15 (KNS): Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has emphasized the remarkable development in Jammu and Kashmir under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, attributing this growth to the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019.
Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Rijiju noted that the J&K has entered a new era of growth, with significant infrastructure projects completed and centrally sponsored schemes effectively implemented. Speaking about the Union Budget 2025-26, Rijiju described it as "pro-people," highlighting key measures such as raising the income threshold for the nil tax slab to ?1.2 million per annum, reducing the middle class's tax burden.
He further mentioned a six-year mission to boost pulses production and a five-year plan to enhance cotton output, along with a ?20,000 crore "Deep Tech Fund of Funds" to support innovation and startups. (KNS)
