Srinagar, July 29(KNS): KPC strongly Condemns the Fire Incident held at Mattan, Anantnag, in which three houses of KP community were badly damaged.
Kashmiri Pandit Conference ( KPC ) express its deepest condemnation to the recent fire incident in Martand Mattan, Anantnag, where the Houses of three Kashmiri Pandit families, belonging to Shri Anand Ji Razdan, Shadi Lal Razdan, and Sham Lal Patwar, were tragically burned down.
The destruction of these houses not only represents a severe loss for the affected families but also serves as a poignant reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by the Kashmiri Pandit community.
Kundan Kashmiri, President KPC stated that this incident evokes painful memories of the widespread arson that occurred in 1992, where approximately 20,000 houses belonging to Kashmiri Pandits were systematically burned down. These deliberate acts aimed to ensure that, even if the situation in the valley improved, Kashmiri Pandits would have no homes to which they could return. Such calculated efforts to erase the presence of an entire community from their birth place are acts of extreme cruelty and injustice.
Given the history and context, we cannot dismiss the possibility of mischief by malicious actors with the intent to further damage Kashmiri Pandit properties and destabilize the region.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe timing and nature of this fire raise serious concerns about the underlying motives and potential orchestrations by miscreants seeking to exploit the situation to vitiate the atmosphere in the area.
KPC urgently call upon the Union Territory authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into this incident, if mischief is done, then ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice. It is imperative that such heinous acts are not allowed to go unchecked, as they not only harm the immediate victims but also sow fear and insecurity among the broader community.
KPC also strongly urge the authorities to implement stringent measures to prevent similar incidents from occurring in the future. There must be heightened vigilance and increased security to protect the remaining properties of Kashmiri Pandits in the Kashmir valley. The safety and security of this vulnerable community must be a priority to ensure that they can live without fear of further attacks.(KNS).
