BARAMULLA, Jan 22 (KNS) : Wildlife officials in Baramulla successfully rescued a leopard and its cub in a coordinated operation on Wednesday, safeguarding both the animals and local residents from potential harm.
According to the Wildlife Range Baramulla, the operation was conducted promptly after the animals were spotted near a residential area. The leopards were safely tranquilized and relocated to a secure forest habitat.
Speaking with News Agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), Wildlife Ranger Abid Ali emphasized that increasing human-wildlife encounters are often the result of environmental pollution and habitat degradation in surrounding forest areas.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“The shrinking of natural habitats and ecological imbalance are forcing wild animals to venture into human settlements,” Ali stated. He urged the public to avoid traveling alone after dark and to maintain cleanliness in and around residential areas to reduce the likelihood of such conflicts.
The Wildlife Department is continuing to monitor the region and has called for public cooperation to ensure the safety of communities and the conservation of local wildlife. (KNS)
