NIA nets ninth accused in Delhi Red Fort blast case

New Delhi, Dec 18 (KNS): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested a key accused from Jammu and Kashmir in connection with the November 10 car bomb blast near Delhi’s Red Fort that killed 11 people and injured several others, officials said.

The arrested individual, identified as Yasir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Shopian district in Jammu and Kashmir, is the ninth accused to be taken into custody in the case so far, they said.

According to an NIA statement, Dar was arrested from New Delhi and has been booked under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), 1967, and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, in case RC-21/2025/NIA/DLI.

The agency said its investigations revealed Dar’s active role in the conspiracy behind the blast. “An active participant in the conspiracy, he had sworn allegiance and taken an oath to carry out self-sacrificial operations,” the statement said.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Further probes showed that Dar was in close contact with other accused, including Umar Un Nabi, the deceased perpetrator of the attack, and Mufti Irfan, the NIA said.

The agency added that it is working closely with various central and state agencies to unravel the full conspiracy behind the terror strike. Earlier this month, NIA conducted searches at the premises of several accused and suspects in Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh, seizing digital devices and other incriminating materials.

These operations followed searches at the residences of prime accused Dr Muzammil Shakeel Ganie and Dr Shaheen Saeed, including at the Al-Falah University complex and other locations in Faridabad, Haryana, the agency said.(KNS).
