Srinagar, Dec 18 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that no power in the Universe could restore provision of Article that had given special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Article 370 was abrogated by the Centre on August 05, 2019 and the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two union territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
A 4-judge Constitution Bench of the Supreme Court on December 11 unanimously upheld the decision of Centre to abrogate Article 370.
In an interview to a Delhi-based hindi newspaper Dainik Jagran, PM Modi said that post Article 370 abrogation Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are transformed places, thronged by tourist instead of terrorists.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
"As for those who are spreading confusion because of their political motives, I want to make it clear that no power in the Universe can bring back Article 370," he said.
He also said that the Supreme Court has made it clear the there cannot be two constitutions in the country.
"Abrogation of Article 370 was more important for the people of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh than any political agenda. A few family dominated parties were controlling the region for a long time but people there want to join the mainstream of growth and ensure a safe future for their children," he said. (KNS)
