Parents Urge School Closure Amid Heavy Rains and Flood Threat in North Kashmir's Baramulla

Baramulla, April 19 (KNS): Amid continuous heavy rains across Kashmir, especially in North Kashmir, water levels in streams and nallahs have risen sharply, creating a flood-like situation in many areas.

Parents from different parts of North Kashmir's Baramulla district while speaking to Kashmir News Service (KNS) have raised concerns about the safety of their children. They have appealed to the District Magistrate of Baramulla to close schools as a precaution.

In the Ferozepura Nallah area, the water level has crossed the danger mark and continues to rise at an alarming rate.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelAreas in the Pattan sub-division like Hanjiwera, Khore, Gund Trikolbal, and others are already witnessing flood-like conditions.

Similarly, parts of Sopore including Tarzoo, Amberpora, Alibagh, and Hartaar are also under threat due to the rising water level in Nigli Nallah.

Parents who spoke to (KNS) over the phone said that sending children to school in such weather could be risky. They urged the authorities to take immediate action and close schools to avoid any unfortunate incidents.(KNS)
