PM Modi condoles Nana Patekar’s demise, recalls contribution to Hindi, Marathi cinema

New Delhi, Oct 8 (KNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday condoled the demise of veteran actor Nana Patekar, describing him as an actor whose distinctive screen presence, versatility and creativity left a lasting impression on generations of audiences.

In a message posted on X, Modi said Patekar possessed a rare combination of intensity and individuality and brought creativity to the characters he portrayed.

The Prime Minister also recalled Patekar’s reputation for expressing his views frankly and without hesitation, saying the veteran actor was admired not only for his performances but also for his forthright personality.

“Nana Patekar’s contribution to Hindi and Marathi cinema was immense,” Modi said, adding that his passing had left a “deep void” in the world of cinema.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Prime Minister conveyed his condolences to Patekar’s family, friends and countless admirers and prayed for the departed soul.

Patekar, 75, died at his residence in Goa on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest, according to reports. He had a career spanning several decades across Hindi and Marathi cinema and was known for his powerful performances in films including *Parinda*, *Krantiveer*, *Prahar*, *Tiranga* and *Ab Tak Chhappan*.

The actor, whose work also extended to theatre and social causes, was honoured with the Padma Shri and several major film awards during his career.(KNS)
