BARAMULLA, Jan 19 (KNS) : Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police for North Kashmir, Maqsood-ul-Zamaan, has cautioned that radicalization presents a direct peril to societal harmony and national cohesion.
In a statement issued via social media platform X as per news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS), the senior officer urged communities to collaborate in countering extremist influences at their nascent stages.
The officer underscored the collective responsibility in preempting such threats.
The communication highlighted several behavioral indicators that could suggest radicalization, advising families and community members to remain observant. These indicators include the expression of increasingly intolerant viewpoints or hate speech, noticeable withdrawal from family and social circles, abrupt shifts in behavior, ideology, or personal appearance, and a concerning interest in violent extremist propaganda or materials.
The police official stressed the critical need for public vigilance and encouraged citizens to promptly report any worrisome behavior to the authorities.
“Help build a safer, united society,” the DIG further appealed. (KNS)
