Srinagar, Mar 8 (KNS): In a move towards ensuring faster resolution of public complaints and fostering better coordination between the police and citizens, the Jammu and Srinagar Police have appointed Compliant Grievance Redressal Officers in every police station across Srinagar.

This initiative aims to improve transparency, accountability, and create a more citizen-friendly policing environment.

SSP Srinagar, Imtiyaz Hussain outlined that the grievance redressal mechanism across the city's police stations should be efficient, quick, and result-oriented. “Taking these directions seriously, we’ve implemented the grievance redressal system at all police stations in the southern part of Srinagar,” said SP City south Shabir Khan

Under the new setup, each police station has established a special desk, where a designated nodal officer will be available to receive public grievances. This officer will directly address concerns in a time-bound manner, ensuring quick resolutions.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelOnce the grievance is resolved, the nodal officer will provide feedback to the complainant, informing them about the action taken.

SP South Srinagar, Shabir Khan, expressed that the initiative has been well-received by the local community. “The public has welcomed this move, as it promises an efficient and transparent process for addressing complaints,” Khan said.

The new system is designed to improve policing effectiveness, promote accountability, and build stronger ties between the police and the residents of Srinagar. This step is seen as a positive shift towards modernizing the city's police force and making it more responsive to the needs of the people.

Srinagar’s residents can now expect more timely and transparent responses to their complaints, marking a significant step forward in community-oriented policing. (KNS)
