Terrorist Killed in Ongoing Joint Operation in Chhatru Forest, Kishtwar:Army


Kishtwar, Apr 10 (KNS): A terrorist was killed in a joint search and destroy operation launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the dense forests of Chhatru area in Kishtwar district on April 9, officials said.

According to Army, the operation was initiated following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the region. "Contact was established with the terrorists late in the evening on the same day. A fierce exchange of fire took place between the forces and the terrorists, during which one terrorist was neutralised," the official said.

Despite the hostile terrain and inclement weather, the Indian Army and J&K Police have continued their operation in the area to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats. The identity and affiliation of the neutralised terrorist are being ascertained. (KNS)
